Summer School 2021

Over our Summer School (19th – 23rd/26th – 30th July) we had the pleasure of welcoming over 150 students to our summer school, made up from groups of our incoming Year 7s and a targeted catch up group of our current students.

All students who attended received a support pack, which included an Android tablet, headphones, an equipment pack, a water bottle and a bag to hold it all. This helped them engage in both academic lessons and enrichment programmes, hosted by our own staff, subject consultants and the Q20 Theatre Company to make up our curriculum, these included:

  • English studying descriptive writing and riddles.
  • Mathematics studying percentages
  • Science performing experiments including using Bunsen burners
  • Computing learning programming and creating a game
  • Drama studying the portraying expression, movement and animals
  • Food Technology designing their own cakes
  • PSHE studying transition and global trade
  • Times Tables using Times Table Rockstars
  • Reading using MyOn
  • Sports playing sports such as netball, dodgeball, rounders, benchball, football
  • In addition, dance, bingo and much more

We were extremely proud of students for making exceptional academic progress:

  • 81% improved in their times tables
