Network Login & Microsoft 365
Every student at Ashton is provided with a Network Login and a Microsoft 365 account. These accounts are essential for learning and will be used to access school computers, Microsoft applications, and many other digital services throughout their time at Ashton.
Student Username and Email Address
Each student has a unique username and email address, created using the same format across the school.
Username: [Y7 Intake Year][First Initial][Surname] Email Address: [Username]@ashtoncsc.com
Take Tom Finney for example, who joined us in Year 7 this year:

Student Passwords
When students first join Ashton, they are given a temporary password. The first time they sign in to a school computer, they will be asked to create their own password.
This password will then be used for both their school network account and their Microsoft 365 account, making it easy to access school services with a single set of login details.
To keep accounts secure, student passwords must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 12 characters long
- Include at least one uppercase letter (A-Z)
- Include at least one lowercase letter (a-z)
- Include at least one number (0-9)
Students should never share their password with anyone, including friends. Keeping passwords private helps protect personal information and school work.
School Synergy
School Synergy is Ashton’s student information platform. It gives students access to important school information, including their timetable, homework, attendance, behaviour, and school announcements.
Students can access School Synergy from any internet-connected device, both in school and at home.
Logging In
Students sign in to School Synergy using their Ashton Microsoft 365 account. There is no separate username or password to remember.
How do I access School Synergy?
- Visit the School Synergy website or open the Synergy Student app.
- At the login screen, select Microsoft.
- Enter your school email address if prompted.
- Enter your school password.
- Complete any additional Microsoft sign-in steps if required.
- You will then be taken directly to your School Synergy dashboard.
What can students use School Synergy for?
Through School Synergy, students can:
- View their timetable
- Access homework and assignments
- Check attendance records
- View behaviour information
- Read school notices and announcements
