Lancashire Cross Country Event

October was the Preston school's cross-country event. From this the top 10 in each age group would be selected to represent the Preston borough in the Lancashire event. This was held on Saturday 4th February at Witton Park, Blackburn. 10 of our Ashton Pupils were selected for the team:

George M
Lily B
Lucas C
Ryan T
Liam B
Reece G
MJ B
Natasha C
Holly M
Sam B

Unfortunately, George M had to pull out due to testing positive for COVID. I know he was devasted to miss out and said he will come back stronger next year.

All the runners where magnificent and gave it their all. We did have a couple of successes:

Sam B finished 15th in the senior run. This has put him on the reserve list to go to the national event in Nottingham. He was so proud of his efforts and caught the eye of the chief organiser who has invited him to join Preston Harriers.

Holly M and Natasha C were a part of the team that won the Y10/11 girls team race. They both finished in the top 20.

These pupils were invited into staff briefing on Monday so we could show our appreciation.
